Having graduated from Brown University with a degree in Neuroscience, Ben started his career at BrainGate – one of the leading Brain-Computer Interface research labs in the country – as a software engineer, working with other engineers, research scientists, and students to simplify existing systems and integrate disparate technologies. From here, Ben moved to a software engineering role at the Silicon Valley-based Medical Device company, NeuroPace: a company manufacturing the only FDA-approved epilepsy device to deliver personalized treatment in response to abnormal brain activity. Ben was embedded in the R&D team as a full stack engineer, dedicated to productionalizing machine learning algorithms and building visualization-intensive applications to aid in the discovery of novel therapies for patients.

After exposure to the Medical Device industry, Ben stepped into the Aerospace sector, transitioning to a role as a software engineer at SpaceX. Ben worked on many different products during his time at SpaceX, making major contributions. He made changes to the purchasing application in the company’s homegrown Enterprise Resource Planning system, Starlink’s manufacturing execution system (used by every technician in the factory), and the telemetry system responsible for recording high rate continuous data from satellites, rocket launches, and engine tests. Ben brings to the team a wide range of experience across multiple industries and has a proven track record integrating disparate technologies to make a cohesive system.
